bioMerieux has still not withdrawn the malfunctioning colistin AST material
This is a general and iterated EUCAST warning against material sold
by bioMerieux for susceptibility testing (AST) of colistin. It is years
since it was conclusively shown by scientists that material for AST sold
by bioMerieux completely fails to meet acceptable accuracy, and the
material is still sold by bioMerieux. The warning published several years ago has again been updated! The message is the same!

RAST breakpoints for prolonged incubation (16-20h) now published in JAC
Recently we made breakpoints available (on the website) for RAST
incubation beyond the standard 4, 6 and 8h for when reading at those
incubation times is not prectical. Now the rationale for this is published in the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy.

Methods document on MIC testing of yeasts updated by AFST
The Edef 7.4 document "Method for the determination of broth dilution minimum inhibitory concentrations of antifungal agents for yeasts" has been updated (v. 7.4, 13 October, 2023).
