The following news items have been published in the previous month:
- 24 Oct 2024: Comments and responses to the consultation on pneumococci and viridans streptococci
EUCAST comments and responses to the public consultation on changing breakpoints for S. pneumoniae and Streptococcus viridans published.
- 17 Oct 2024: The importance of national AST committees (NACs)
EUCAST has for many years encouraged countries to form National AST Committees (NAC). The NAC will serve as a liaison between on one hand EUCAST (or another system) and on the other national microbiology and infectious diseases. The NAC can have many purposes and tasks, the most important being the general support of clinical microbiological laboratories in the country. There is a EUCAST proposal for how to form a NAC and what tasks may be prioritised.
- 17 Oct 2024: Dalbavancin MIC distributions updated and ECOFFs established
Dalbavancin MIC distributions have been added and ECOFFs calculated and recalculated. There are now six pathogens where there is enough data for ECOFFs to be established. EUCAST is interested in aquiring even more data so anyone with broth microdilution MIC data are welcome to submit data.
- 09 Oct 2024: Recorded session on reference AST of M.tuberculosis available from 13 October, 2024.
The EUCAST subcommittee on Anti-Mycobacterial Susceptibility Testin (AMST) recorded session on reference broth microdilution methodology for M. tuberculosis is now available.
- 07 Oct 2024: Statistics describing the use of EUCAST websites
Updated statistics over the use of EUCAST websites (the general website at https://www.eucast.org and the MIC and zone diameter distribution website at https://mic.eucast.org)
